Padley Gorge and Bolehill Quarry

After something of a hiatus because of work commitments, I’ve managed to get away for a few days, including a morning’s photography. I headed for the top of Padley Gorge in Derbyshire, to explore the trees and rocks of the moorland landscape. I came back with some shots I’m pretty happy with. Here’s a selection…

All shot with D800E, with 70-200f4VR, except for the first, which was shot with 85PC-E

Padley Wall and Trunk

ISO 100 1/10 f/8

Bolehill Quarry Rocks Detail

@ 135mm

ISO 100 0.8” f/11, CPL

Birches ICM

ISO 100 1/4” f/16

Beech & Rock

ISO 100 0.8” f/11, CPL

Birches B&W

ISO 100 1/6 f/16

Rocks Reflection

ISO 100 1/15 f/8

I like all of these, but I think my favourites are Beech & Rock, and Rocks Reflection. Here the end result perfectly matched what I visualized for the shot.
