Shots from a local churchyard

The aim here was to find simple and quiet images.

Both taken with D800E and 85PC-E, tilted

I liked the coincidence of colour on this one.

Moss

Growing on top of a raised horizontal grave.

ISO 100 0.3″ f/16

Tilted, stack of 5 frames, MFD (1:2) I think

I was rather taken by this two-tone moss.  The vibrant green side faces due east, away from the cold west wind blowing in from the Cotswolds.

Not a shot I would have been able to get with a standard macro lens (unless I used a step ladder!! and chose to shoot from directly overhead). I actually think this quiet little shot is one of my favourites of the year. It’s all about quietness, simplicity, colour, and detail.

Both these images made it into the mingthein.com readers portfolio.
