I was inspired this morning to translate one of my shots from Scotland last year into Black and White, for a more dramatic effect.

This is a quick edit (just converting the jpeg to B&W using Nik Silver Efex Pro 2), so there are too many sharpening haloes at present.  But I’m very pleased with the dramatic quality of the juxtaposition between headstones, landscape, and sky here.

The title refers to a motif in the history of pastoral poetry and landscape painting.
