Moody Greens: A couple of final shots from the weekend
The last day of the weekend in Derbyshire saw me take a half-hour to explore some more moody dark shots, this time in the woods above Darley Dale.
A stacked D800E macro shot of a small fern growing out of moss on a rock; a D300 shot of a larger fern growing out of a wall:
Tinkersley Wood Moss & Fern
Stack of 17 frames, cropped for composition
ISO 100 13” f/16
Whitworth Road Fern
D300/18-200VR @ 65mm, circular polarizer
ISO 200 1″ f/16
On this occasion I think that the technically far simpler shot of the fern in the wall has turned out rather better, though you’ve got to love the incredible detail the D800 file provides. I think I may reedit the original full-frame merged stack file for a more inspiring composition.
