Aeonium arboreum detail

Shot wide open
Nikon D3S/200f4micro/cpl
ISO 200 1/50 f/5

An example of the way a compositional choice and selection of a very wide aperture can transform a relatively common houseplant subject into something more abstract and artistic.  This is one of the reasons why I really enjoy macro photography: aperture choice can really make a massive difference to the overall feel of a shot.
